Topshop I love you

I bought these beauties yesterday from Topshop! I absolutely love them and have paired them with my 'LOVE' skirt today, also from Topshop. I am indeed in love with Topshop.

Stripes

On Saturday we met our friend at Number 1 The Harbourside, Bristol; and had the most amazing mussels & black pepper fries, with a free bowl of soup and bread! Washed down with a pint of cider on account of returning to the West country,  I was feeling pretty happy. I love the atmosphere in this place and as well as a gorgeous interior it has an amazing view out over the waterfront. I like how my paparazzi skills have captured the little girl in the stripey jumper swinging around the stripey pole, am loving that!

The English Weather

England is renowned for it's Bizarro and changeable weather, but I feel that I have been more acutely aware of it this last year, largely due to spending a lot of time outside for my job, but also due to the moments of window gazing when struck for inspiration. It was precisely one of these moments that led me to witness this lovely double rainbow! I didn't really know they existed so I was quite excited to see them! I wonder what lies at the end of a pair of rainbows?

Beloved Cherry Blossom

I'm a tad late to be posting this one, but I've had these wonderful photos with me for a few weeks and since I've started blogging again, I'm just going to take a moment to share my love of Cherry Blossom. I don't think there is anything more glorious in nature than the blooming and shedding of the Cherry Blossom, an example from mother nature's portfolio of surface patterns.  These trees hold so many memories of my precious time and loved ones in Korea, but also they make me look to the future and new beginnings. I'm currently working on some ideas using these beautiful things, but I'm wary about playing with them as they are so sacred to me! To further reinforce this point, my husband and I will be re-declaring our vows next year in Korea in April, which was planned for the time of the blossoms!

The first photo I took was on my way to work in South East London, which proves the fact that these beauties can brighten up any(ah-hem)where!

This next one was sent to me by my lovely sister in law, taken outside of her high school. I love the fact that despite being on opposite sides of the world, we can still rejoice together about this time of year, marked by the Cherry Blossoms.

Damn that's good coffee, and it was!

Showing signs of my age, before a recent night out with my friends, I went to get us some take away coffee's (a different kind of shot to those consumed in my early 20s!) from Cafe Grounded in Redfield, Bristol. The coffee is blooming delicious, but more over I loved their take away cups! I felt very entertained slurping from this one as I looked at the different characters and landmarks from my beloved Bristol. I'm going to have a look in to who designed these because they're great! I think all cafe's could do with jazzing up their cups!

(and they weren't wrong!)

Cha Cha!

I absolutely love Benefit products and their branding! I have recently bought the 'Cha cha tint' and thought the pullout guide on how to apply the tint is lovely. I love the simplicity of the lines and the splash of colour!I'm all about the cha cha tint now! ^.^

Hello! ^.^

Since studying 'The Art & Business of Surface Pattern Design' with Rachael Taylor & Beth Nichols, my design style and aspirations have taken a very different route! As a result my 'motif-a-day' blog doesn't really feel right for me anymore as my style has changed so much, including a new pen name of *memo.lisa! I've decided on this name as my designs are influenced by the every day including thoughts of days gone by, so to me they are my memos on life!

I'm re-starting my blogging with a different feel, not only will I upload my own designs/news from time to time, I will mainly be uploading snap shots of every day things/inspirations that I capture and wish to share! I am currently working on my portfolio, so will not be revealing too much of my own work, but I plan to have lots of exciting things to share in the summer!

If you want to look at any of my old roots, you can pop over to my previous blog!
